Hi there! I’m Harvinder Saraswat and I wanted to share a little about myself with all of you! I’ve been in the field of Guidance & Counseling for more than 14 years earning a Masters Degree in Child Development, followed by Masters Degree in Psychology and International Diploma in Guidance and Counseling from NCERT (
) along the way. During my journey towards meeting my career goals, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families primarily in a school setting. Later on, I have been involved in teaching Guidance and Counseling at DEPFE, NCERT. Delhi
I have worked with those dealing with issues such as low self esteem, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety disorders, learning disorders, academic underachievement, and developmental disorders.
I have worked extensively with teachers and parents too, conducting teacher training and parenting workshops.
I always strive to use the positive affective and cognitive strategies believing that with the correct guidance from the counselor, all people have within them the power, strength, and resources to come up with their own solutions to their issues. I also find it immensely gratifying to work as a teacher trainer, helping teachers to optimize the potential of the young children.
My inner urge to search for new horizons and developments in the field remains ongoing with continuous education and research. I am proud to say that I have been effectively helping those in need of higher self-esteem and self-worth, which in return aids in their success at home, at school or work, and in society. I truly believe that when positive growth and development begins, so does active goal setting for a healthy and happy present and future.
Beyond psychology, I am a full time mother to two adorable kids’. My friends and family are extremely important to me and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for them. My passion for teaching, quest for learning, helping others, and making my own dreams into goals makes me the positive, compassionate and inspirational person I am. I truly hope that you will find interesting articles, views, discussions, tools pertinent to the field of counseling here.
